If you have stayed long enough in Montevideo, Uruguay, you'll probably familiar already with the tram line tracks that darted in and out of the city in the past decades. This tram system gave a big boost to the development of the city into what it is today. The downtown areas were connected to the uptown regions, which allowed for faster distribution of people and goods. Here's a brief history of the tramways. Hopefully one day they will bring back the tramways and we'll be able to have the experience of riding them... not just enjoying old photos. Link: Montevideo Tramways
