If there's one word that Montevideans use to describe their home city, that would be "tranquil." Indeed, city life in Montevideo is more relaxed and laid back than its foreign counterparts. Compared with its cousin Buenos Aires, Argentina, there's much less to be busy about in this Uruguayan capital. Uruguay claims to host the longest Carnaval in the world, boasting a whole month of activities throughout the month of February.
